Rolling Hills Estates CA Homes & Real Estate
Rolling Hills Estates is, in our opinion, the most “horse-friendly” town on the Palos Verdes hill. Much of the town is in what is called the “horse overlay” and many parts of town have a rural feel with traditional white rail fencing, road side horse trails, and even horse tunnels underneath the busy streets of Hawthorne Boulevard and Crenshaw Boulevard.
Some of our favorite areas include the Dapplegrey lanes (which includes Dapplegrey Lane as well as Buckskin and Sorrel Lanes) and Strawberry Lane, where a private community riding arena is restricted to residents use for a small fee. We also find the area around the primarily Western-style riding Empty Sadddle Club off of Rolling Hills Road, and the areas off of Pony Lane particularly horse -friendly.
Silver Spur, off of PV Drive North is another great area that has many 180 degree view homes as well as some horse property.
Palos Verdes Peninsula, an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County, is included in the Realty area of Palos Verdes Drive North. This area includes the Westfield tract, with large lots and horse zoning, some with canyon or city lights views. In this area, children are still allowed to go to Palos Verdes Unified Schools and residents have the same services for fire and police (LA County) as most of the rest of the peninsula.
