South Redondo – South/West of PCH

With boundaries that include Pacific Coast Highway on the East side (as the name implies!), Anita St (190th) on the north, the Pacific Ocean on the West, and a irregular southern edge between the Redondo Beach part of the Hollywood Riviera to the Torrance portion of the same section, this is the ultimate Redondo Beach location. Almost all homes are within walking distance of the beach.

The gorgeous Esplanade (equivalent to Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach’s The Strand) houses many tall 6 story condominium complexes where a one-bedroom unit can go for up to $715,000, even in today’s market. Also in this part of Redondo Beach is “The Village” addresses, which are really located along Catalina Boulevard. These include the original “The Village”, with addresses in the 600’s (610, 620, 640, 660 etc), which was an apartment conversion to condominiums, as well as Seascape I (addresses of 110, 120, et), Seascape II (addresses of 210, 220 The Village, etc) and Seascape III (addresses in the 500’s such as 540 The Village) Most of these condos have some kind of ocean view, although some have just a peek between buildings.

Single family homes are found mostly in “The Avenues” with the simplistically named Avenue A, Avenue B, etc through Avenue H. These are some of the most highly prized single family homes in Redondo Beach, with many of them still having the original 1930’s and 1940’s Spanish influence showing. Lot sizes for single family residences are approx. 40×150 ft.

Parks and recreational activities include the King Harbor area of restaurants and shops, the famous Redondo Beach Pier, the Esplanade and Veterans Park near where the Esplanade intersects Catalina.
