Malaga Cove
Malaga Cove is divided into the two areas of “Upper Malaga”, which is the area above Palos Verdes Drive and “Lower Malaga”, the area below Palos Verdes Drive.
Upper Malaga homes often have spectacular “Queen’s Necklace” views of the coastline including the curve of the bay with sparkling city lights at night, though not all homes have views due to natural topography. Lower Malaga may or may not have views, but since these are angled lower, they are sometimes not quite as panoramic as Upper Malaga. Palos Verdes Estates art jury building restrictions have kept a uniform feel to the neighborhoods. The style is predominantly mediterranean, with red tile roofs and white stucco walls. Lots of weeping eucalyptus and bougainvillea adds to the “southern France” feel of the area. Recent sold prices range from $1.65M – $5.2M for single family homes. There are a very few townhomes availalble — these range from $624K – $2.0M. Lot sizes range from 6700 – 56,000, though most are in the neighborhood of 10,000 – 14,000 (and not all the lot will be flat!)
Schools are the excellent Palos Verdes Unified School District.
Resident owners are eligible to apply for membership to the Palos Verdes Beach Club, Country Club and Tennis Club.
