Hermosa Beach Sand Section

The Hermosa Sand Section is bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west (Beach Dr. or Hermosa Ave), Valley Dr. to the east, a jagged northern border that starts at Longfellow and ends at 35th St and bounded by Rancho Sausal Redondo and Rancho Sausal San Pedro to the south (near Herondo St.)

The sand section housing stock consists primarily of townhomes with some beach cottages still in existance. Typical lot sizes are 40X180 ft. Walk streets near the Manhattan Beach border are more highly prized.

Schools are Hermosa View (K-2) Hermosa Valley (2-8) and either Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach or Redondo Union High School (residents get to choose which one.)

The Sand Section encompasses downtown Hermosa and lower Pier Avenue with many new office condos providing business owners the opportunity to own their space, not just lease it. The Sand Section also includes the Hermosa Strand and borders the greenbelt between Valley and Ardmore streets.
